BOOTS
The Japanese equipment company was created in 1949, just a few years after Kihachiro Onitsuka returned home from the war. Asics, an acronym for the Latin expression "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano" ("You should pray for a healthy mind in a healthy body") released their first football boot in 1972, the "Injector" produced using the direct injection method. The brand has since gone one to create the "Leathal Tigreor", "Ultrezza" and "Menace" styles that are worn around the world.
Once worn by teams such as Newcastle Utd, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, AS Roma and players like Iniesta and David Beckham in his early years, they're found primarily in Japan now, with Vissel Kobe being their main team.
