The MIZUNO Brothers Ltd. was founded in Osaka and began constructing baseball wear. Establishing themselves in the market and moving across to golf, which later got the brand inducted into each respective Hall of Fame, the brand created their first football boot in 1980, the "WORLD". Shortly after in 1985, the world famous "MORELIA" was created, weighing just 245 grams.
Some athletes to have worn the RunBird over the years include Roberto Carlos, Fernando Torres and Patrick Kluivert with the most notable being the 1999 the FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or winner: Rivaldo (who also had his own boot).
