Indoor/Futsal (IC) surfaces are mainly hard courts made out of polished, timber floorboards. Although played on this type of floor, some indoor soccer is played on surfaces with a carpet like surface. This requires a completely different outsole to what is considered a normal boot.

Indoor boots have a smoother, flatter rubber outsole with grooves built in for ultimate traction against the flat surface of the floor. Often a lower profile to normal boots with built in cushioning to combat the high impact of the hard court surface.
